How long does a portraiture session take?

It depends on the type of shoot we are doing. A family, pregnancy, baby or kids session will take about two hours. A boudoir session generally takes around four due to the more complicated lighting set-ups.

Can you sort out a make-up artist for me?

 Yes, we work with a number of fantastic professional make-up artists, who would be happy to provide a quote for your shoot.

Do you have a photographic studio?

 We have backgrounds and lights that we can set up anywhere, including at our home studio in Wimbledon. However, Julia prefers to do shoots in your home environment, as you will be more comfortable and relaxed for the shoot.

What happens after the shoot?

After the shoot has taken place, Julia returns to her studio to download the images and make a selection of the best images. She will then work on a few of them in Photoshop® to show you the difference between a finished and an unfinished image. Next, your images will be uploaded onto a password-protected site for you to have a look at and share with friends/family.

How do I decide between frames, canvases and acrylics?

 

 Our products have been chosen to suit a range of home décor styles, from traditional to modern. The best thing to do first is decide where you’d like to put images from the shoot in your house. You are then encouraged to make an appointment to see samples at Julia’s home studio.

I’d like to do something special for my upcoming birthday. What sort of ideas do you have?

 There are lots of ways to incorporate photography into a special occasion. For a recent 40th, the birthday girl hired a limo for her closest friends and her to travel around London in style. Julia provided make-up artists for before the trip and then rode around with the group all day, taking glamorous group shots of them at historic London monuments. Julia was the only sober member of the party at the end! Julia then worked with Kate, her graphic designer, to create a fabulous album of the day, incorporating comments from the birthday girl’s friends and messages of love from her birthday cards.

What should we wear?

 Before your shoot, Julia will talk to you about what sort of clothes you should wear on the day. It really depends on the type of images you are looking for.
