At least, I think it is. It’s hard to tell through the clouds and rain.
However, as Anton Chekhov said, “People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they’re happy.” With that in mind, I hope this newsletter brings a smile to your lips.
This issue is chock full of the usual mix of offers, news, trivia and wit. Enjoy and keep those referrals coming!
Very best wishes, |

Introducing a new product in the JBP range: the Mess the Dress session. It’s the latest rage in America, so we thought we’d be one of the first to bring it over the pond.
Mess the Dress is a fun session for the bride after the honeymoon (the groom is welcome to join in, too). Before you dry clean your dress and pack it away for perpetuity, put it on one more time and get some more use out of it. Mess the Dress sessions can be fun, sexy, passionate, glamorous, exotic…and even wet! (Ask about the underwater shoot). Locations are flexible. |

To launch Mess the Dress, JBP is offering a free session to one lucky newsletter reader. A winner will be randomly selected from all entries. Email us by July 31, 2007 to throw your name in the hat.
The winner will be notified by August 15, 2007. |

Getting photographed while pregnant is a beautiful way to capture a very special and unique time in your life. Ideally, the best time is during months 7-9, when the bump is starting to look pronounced and round.
JBP offers a bump-to-baby package, which involves three shoots from before to after birth, an album of the journey from pregnancy to motherhood, a 10x8” frame, and birth announcement cards printed with a photo.
JBP is offering a complimentary pregnancy session to one reader. To enter, send an email with 3 words that describe how pregnancy makes you feel. A winner will be randomly selected from all entrants.
Offer ends July 31, 2007, and the winner will be notified by August 15, 2007. |

I’ve recently discovered that it can be really handy to have a nice, up-to-date photo of you ready to go, just in case the media call.
Most people, when faced with that situation, will scrabble around for a digital camera and get someone to take a hastily snapped picture. Then, when the image is printed, they moan about how horrible they look.
That’s where the “Just in Case” photo comes in. It’s a professionally taken, retouched image that shows you the way you want people to see you. And it’s ready to go, on your computer, when you need it. Clients use theirs for presentations, PR, websites and also actor head shots and, recently, companies have been contacting JBP about photographing their entire staff.
JBP is holding a “Just in Case” Blitz Day on July 19 at 83 Victory Road, Wimbledon. The session cost is being halved for this day to only £50. Spaces are limited, so call 020 8543 3349 to secure your slot. |

To learn about trends in wedding photography, check out my article on page 142 of July’s Wedding Ideas magazine.
In other news, I’ve recently been awarded an associate qualification by the Master Photographers Association, the British Institute of Photography and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. There are three levels of qualification: licentiate, associate and fellowship. Associate level “denotes a high standard of craftsmanship and individual creative ability”.
And finally, I’d like to announce the addition of graphic designer Alexandra Richardson to the JBP team. Alexandra’s past experience includes being an art director at Hello magazine and she has come on board to design JBP’s signature wedding albums. She’s already proven to be an invaluable and creative member of the team. Welcome, Alex! |

| Here’s what family man Martin H had to say about JBP: |
 |
| "Julia's photography is spectacular – a cut well above any professional photographers we have used before. I found it amazing that a stranger could capture the mood and tone of our family and home so accurately. The photos are full of life and spirit and we will enjoy looking at them for many years to come." |

Three years ago, All Bar Love started as an idea I had while watching “Straight Dates by Gay Mates.” This summer, the film was unveiled at LUFF 2007 (London-UK Film Focus). A room full of sales agents and buyers from around the world came to see ABL at the BFI on Southbank. Té Papa Films is planning to premiere the film at Wimbledon Odeon in early August for cast, crew, friends, and, of course, clients of JBP. If you would like to order tickets, please email James. |

| As half the world now knows that this is one of my favourite movies, I thought I’d use this classic summer film as inspiration for Issue 3’s competition. |
